Hi my name is Molly Sharber and I am a senior at Presentation Academy. I heard about SIP when I was in 7th grade at Presentation Academy’s Open House and was immediately intrigued. The NICU has always held a special place in my heart. I was born at 22 weeks and spent the first 5 months of my life in the NICU. I knew what my SIP project had to be on.
My project is a children’s book about a baby’s experience in the NICU.I will be writing the children’s book as well as teaching myself how to illustrate. My goal is to inspire and empower NICU children as well as help other kids know to not judge someone before you genuinely know them. I want to instill a belief of hope, endless possibilities, and empathy.
I want my book to be a bonding experience between parents and their children. A message I want to get across is just because someone was born with medical challenges does not mean they are inadequate or lesser than. I am excited to start writing and can’t wait to see where it takes me!
